What type of information we have

How we get the information and why we have it

You do not need to provide any personal data in order to use this website. If you wish to contact us using the contact form, you will need to provide your contact details in order to establish communication.

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for the purposes of issuing quotations and providing translation and related language services. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  1. Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting Kari Koonin.
  2. We have a contractual obligation when we provide translation or related language services that you have ordered or when we take any steps required to perform a contract for a translation or related language services.
  3. We have a legitimate interest.

What we do with the information we have

We use the information that you have given us for administrative purposes (e.g. issuing quotes and invoices) and providing translation and related language services for you.

We may share this information with our accountant, cloud storage and email hosting services (except where we have expressly undertaken not to use such services in a Non-Disclosure Agreement made with a client). All these parties are compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation or in the case of US companies are self-certified under US Privacy Shield provisions.

How we store your information

Your information is securely stored on our computers and in secure cloud storage.

In order to comply with UK tax legislation, we store personal data connected with translation or other language services rendered for 7 years after the end of the relevant tax year. Where personal data forms part of a translation, we keep such personal data for 10 years. Personal data for quotes is destroyed after 6 months.
